The story behind the name
André and Édouard Michelin established the Michelin company in Clermont-Ferrand in 1889. Its history includes the detachable bicycle tire and the development of the radial tire. The familiar name now covers very different products: an everyday touring tire and a summer performance tire serve different drivers.
