The story behind the name
Continental began in Hanover in 1871 as a rubber manufacturer. Its history includes pneumatic bicycle tires in the 1890s and patterned automobile treads in the early twentieth century. Today its tire range spans passenger, crossover and performance applications.
Where to start in the range
ExtremeContact · CrossContact · TrueContact
ExtremeContact DWS06 Plus is a performance all-season and belongs beside other tires in that class. CrossContact and TrueContact products address other priorities. Prefer same-size comparisons when evaluating handling, noise and ride.
How does Continental compare?
Compare a specific model against products in the same category, preferably in the same size and test conditions. A manufacturer-wide star score would hide those differences. We summarize published specifications and buying considerations; we have not conducted instrumented road tests.
For your shortlist, verify seasonal suitability, the service description, installed cost and written warranty conditions. Check current recall information by the complete tire model and identification number.
